5 Books To Read When You Don't Know What's Wrong, But Things Don't Feel Quite Right
It might be the transition from one season of life, into another. It might the end of a chapter in your life. It might be fear or anxiety to start a new chapter. It can feel like a lot, but it's okay.
Hi Friends,
It’s been a while, I know. I have been very busy putting the finishing touches to an entrepreneur magazine I am launching July 21st. Untangled will also be integrated into this magazine, which is very exciting! But, don’t worry…the full version of Untangled will remain on Substack. Please feel free to check out Bloom Magazine, and join its newsletter, “The Bloom Brief” so you don’t miss out.
The other reason I put Untangled on a short pause is because I’m in a place where I am ending a season of my life, and entering a new one. And this new season is a lot, it’s a big one. So, I decided to soak in more quiet time and reflection in my life. This way I can really connect with my heart and mind, and listen more clearly to my true self.
During these transitions we all go through, it is common to feel out of sorts, mis-aligned, confused, scared, overwhelmed, but you just can’t pinpoint what exactly is wrong…because it’s just all the things. Some days you feel like you’re going crazy. It’s a more evolved YOU, leaving an old life, to enter a new phase. And just like starting a brand new school year or a brand new school, it can make us feel awful emotionally because you’re learning how you’ll fit in, observing it to see what the routine is, and learning what works and doesn’t work to your benefit.
It’s a whirlwind for our hearts and mind to process new transitions in life. This is why I want to share these incredible books with you in case you are also going through those storms of emotions, but can’t exactly pin where they are coming from. I hope these make it easier for you, and shed some profound clarity for you as well.
Tiny Traumas: When You Don't Know What's Wrong, but Nothing Feels Quite Right
Have you ever felt at a loss for an answer when asked: ‘How are you really feeling?” Maybe you can’t quite put your finger on it, but you know something is definitely off. Microaggressions, challenging family relationships, toxic positivity, work and pandemic stress, gaslighting—these are just a few examples of what psychologist Dr. Meg Arroll calls “Tiny T” trauma. These tiny traumas can slowly build up inside of us, and if ignored for too long, can manifest in our lives as high-functioning anxiety, perfectionism, binge eating, insomnia, broken relationships, and a host of other problems. While advice on healing from major trauma is plentiful, there is little guidance available to help us recover from these “smaller” yet emotionally devastating traumas that are common to all of us. Now, Dr. Meg fills that gap and helps us find peace with this revolutionary guide.

We’re All Freaking Out
If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed by panic, fear, worry, or anxiety, you’re not alone. A part of the human experience often involves anxious feelings that paralyze us, keep us up at night, rob us of our ability to live in the moment, and pretty much suck the life out of us. But this doesn’t have to be the case. You can stop freaking out.
