Healing Is To Accept Hurting As Part Of Being Human
Our wisdom is birthed through the ability to accept the hurt because you know it came into your life to divert you towards what will one day be "the right direction".
Let’s discuss Chapters 16 & 17 from “This Is How You Heal” by Brianna Wiest.
Ch. 16 - When You’re Ready To Take Your Power Back, Begin Here
Ch. 17 - 13 Things You Need To Stop Doing If You Truly Want To Move Your Life Forward
Before I started my self development and healing journey, I saw myself as the ultimate victim whenever something happened in my life that hurt me emotionally. I instantly would go into the “why me?” mode. When things didn’t go the way I planned, and I found myself heartbroken, saddened, or angered, I saw it as punishment. And unfortunately, this is the reaction most people have —— they automatically see hurt in their lives as unfair, a closed door.
Fast forward to years putting in a lot of work and effort into not only my healing, but also my spirituality, I now understand and trust that our hearts have to go through some hurt not as punishment, but to actually steer us towards our growth and true purpose.
If you want to arrive at this understanding fast, your must really operate from a place of trust in your journey.
To trust yourself means that you will dare to step forward, despite all odds, no matter what’s up against you, no matter what forces may be at work. To trust yourself means that you are no longer content to lodge your soul in the circumstances that have long stopped serving you. To trust yourself means that you will no longer accept fear reprogramming you, reorienting your values and changing your perspective to one that is simply holding you back.
Brianna Wiest - Ch. 16 - When You’re Ready To Take Your Power Back, Begin Here
Accepting the hurt as a building block of your journey, and the evolution of your soul, is one of the most brave things any human can do. You can absolutely do it. Just like we have zero doubts when we smile and laugh, we must also have zero doubts when we shed tears. One day it will make sense.
Now let’s move on to the next chapter….
We’ve all experienced times in our lives where we just feel stuck, or like we just can’t move forward. If you find yourself in this predicament, know it’s because you’ve been living day in/day out, but not learning the lessons. You’re doing a disservice to yourself. Pay closer attention.
Once you give in to the little whispers and signs from the universe you’ll gain momentum, and will be able to successfully move forward.
You can’t exist in a permanent-state of waiting for something outside of you to shift before you feel like you have the green light to shift something within.
Even if some circumstances are less ideal than others, if you’re subconsciously looking for a reason to play it safe, you’ll always find one. You’re never going to wake up one day and feel completely ready, completely fearless, completely assured.
Brianna Wiest - Ch. 17 - 13 Things You Need To Stop Doing If You Truly Want To Move Your Life Forward
Brianna then continues to list the 13 things you must do in order to move forward in your life. She breaks it down in such a smart way that really leaves an imprint on your heart and mind.
One thing I noticed is that they all have “perfectionism” in common. That is the prime characteristic you must do away with if you want to move forward in your life. Holding onto perfectionism, leads to over analysis, which leads to staying stagnant, which leads to never progressing in your life. In other words, “let that shit go…”.
These two chapters made me realize how we humans have a lot of deep rooted trust issues, but we aren’t even aware of them. This is why taking the time daily or weekly for grounding and meditation is pivotal. Doing this will clear away the fog, and allow you to become aware of your fears, trust issues, doubts, etc. and figure out where they’re coming from in order to resolve them.
Healing and growing is completely in your hands. But, if you don’t make the effort to tune in and check on yourself from the inside out regularly, you won’t arrive at your desired destination.
